In recognition of their advancing environmental initiatives, Epson have been awarded with a Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab PaceSetter Award.
Epson, who have made a conscious effort to help reduce many of the lifecycle impacts of its products, has been commended with a PaceSetter Award due to their willingness to implement solutions and processes that aid customers with reducing their impact on the environment.
This includes Epson’s range of business inkjet printers which have been engineered to reduce their overall energy consumption and volumes of waste and their PaperLab in-office paper recycling solution, which has helped to enable a circular economy for businesses and organizations.
Daniel Quelch, CSR and Sustainability Manager for Epson, spoke proudly of the company upon receipt of the PaceSetter Award, expressing:
“Epson aspires to be an indispensable company, trusted throughout the world for its commitment to openness, customer satisfaction and sustainability.
This award is testament to these efforts, and we are extremely proud to have been recognised in this way.”
George Mikolay, Associate Director of Copiers/Production at Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab, spoke of how Epson’s PaceSetter Award win demonstrated how much the company is prioritizing sustainability solutions, commenting:
“Increasingly, companies understand the importance of choosing suppliers and business partners that prioritise sustainability efforts.
Not only are these partners making real efforts to reduce their own environmental footprint, but they’re also inspiring and enabling clients to operate in more eco-friendly ways.
Our PaceSetter award winners have demonstrated their commitment to preserving the planet through thoughtful operational and technological improvements.”
This newest accolade falls in line with the Environmental Vision 2050 set by the company back in 2008.
An excerpt from their website reads that “Epson’s vision is to become an indispensable company” whilst it “uses it’s efficient, compact and precision technologies” in its objective to “achieve sustainability in a circular economy.”
Laying out their strategy as a list of key actions, Epson hope to:
• Reduce the environmental impacts of their manufacturing processes, products and services.
• Advance the frontiers of industry and establish recycling systems through open and unique innovation.
• Contribute to international environmental initiatives.
Additionally, Epson’s Environmental Vision 2050 has been aligned with SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) set worldwide for sustainable development.
The 17 goals, ranging from ending poverty and hunger to ensuring the environmental and resource sustainability for future generations, have been set by all UN member states who have set a commitment of achieving these goals by the year 2030.
According to Epson, they will contribute to reaching these SDGs by continuing to honestly address customer and societal changes, whilst creating unique environmental value through their business activities.
